Mika's been with me for a week and a half and she's bonded with me pretty well. She's still slowly getting used to her new environment and slowly making new friends. I've been asking lotsa friends over to see her and get her socialised as well as Shibas have to be socialised at a young age if not they will be very timid. Oh, and 2 days ago, I heard her very 1st bark! I felt like a mummy hearing her child's 1st word! She really wanted attention one morning and did her usual whining (I don't give in to that) and finally she let out a bark! Just to attract attention! Sooooooo CUTE!
Yesterday when I was playing with her again, she lost her 1st milk tooth at home! I was at 1st a bit shocked as I wasn't sure that was her milk tooth and thought she might have chipped a tooth! Hee... I later realised it was her baby tooth! :D
She's grown quite a bit now even though it's been a week plus... my she's growing real fast!
XOXO

Hello everyone!!!
I'm proud to say that I've successfully completed the Mini Triathlon without stopping in any of the events. And I'm so happy that my efforts to improve my swimming abilities paid off! I used to be able to swim 50m at a go then rest, then continue on to another lap. But now, I can swim 10 laps non stop! Which made swimming 200m in the sea very do-able. That was actually my biggest obstacle to overcome during the triathlon and once that was over I said "phew!" One thing I must say is that triathlons can be very addictive, cos immediately after finishing it, I'm so tempted to do it again next year! It pushes you to be very apt in every event and U can't slack in either sport during the training process. Hence, an all rounder and it gives you a lot of motivation to keep your physical condition optimally fit.
I used to be one of the fastest cross country runners back in VJC, coming in 17th position during our annual school cross country run. In the OSIT Mini, I came in 44th with a total timing of 48min to complete 200m swim, 10km cycle and 2km run, and that made me very happy! Though I'm not as fit as I was in JC, but at least I know I still can do it and I'm sure if anyone regardless of age puts their mind to it, they can complete this mini tri too! I strongly encourage everyone out there to try this at least once in your life as you'll feel a great sense of achievement and rejuvenation after you complete it! :)
Check out the photos from the event!

Posing with Geping-ge before the event started. Geping-ge did the entire Mini too but he also participated in the family challenge as well where Huifang-jie ran the 2km with him and their son, Kai3 Jie4, swam 200m with him. What a great way to spend time with your loved ones! :P
I was checking out the sea route for the swim and feeling extremely anxious.

Getting ready to jump into sea at the start line.
Spot me!!
Yeah I overcame my fear!
Off I go for my 10km cycle!
Yeah! I did it! I completed my first Tri!
Quenching my thirst after the event.

Hihi!!!!
It's been some time since I've updated my blog but that because I've really concentrating on getting myself physically fit to participate in the OSIM Mini Triathlon tomorrow morning!
What worries me is my swimming as I've never been a regular swimmer. Ever since I learnt how to swim when I was a little girl, I never actively practiced it. So finishing 1 50m lap is an achievement for me and after that I've to take a long rest before continuing on! But now, I can swim 8-10laps at one go without stopping and I'm really proud of myself! Starting out was really difficult and I feared I can't complete the 200m in the sea tomorrow morning. Now I'm slightly more confident but still anxious about it as I've no swimming in the sea experience. Let's hope everything goes well!
Wish me luck! I'm actually looking forward to completing my very first Triathlon and I heard it can get pretty addictive!! ;)
