Went to attend the trial run in the new Lunar Trainer+ to try out the new shoes and also train up for the Nike Human Race on 31.08.08. Ran for 5 km in those shoes and I felt really bouncy in them and running on the road was a breeze... the soles of the Lunars felt soft and cushiony which prevented the ball of my feet to ache. I've rather wide feet so the Lunars wide front is perfect for me! Oh and one more thing I noticed about the shoe was the luminous yellow-green sole is great for people who run at night (i.e. me!) cos it's so bright and striking that it's hard not to see you in the darkness of the night! Hee...

Pictures from the trial run!

Guess which foot is mine???

DSC03805.JPGAnd this is the Nike Zoom Victory. I just ran 10km in them yesterday and completed the run in 67min. Don't know whether the timing is good or not! This Zoom Victory uses some wire technology to hold the shoe and makes it even more lightweight than normal! Amazing...

Back to more training sessions! *pant*

XOXO
Jess

wow, is that your house? i really like the little details - like the birds on wire and the dining set is so ultra stylish in its simplicity! who did the ID for you? great job!

and i like these shoes. They look way cool!

Yup! That's my humble abode! A friend of mine helped with the ID, she basically gave some suggestions and the rest was decided on my own. She's more an advisor really! Table, lights, sofa, birdies were decided independently, she helped with the color suggestions and shape recommendations. More a favor from her than anything else! :) House is not entirely complete yet as there's a full wall mirror to be done. The shoes are really good for running on the road and I will recommend them to people who run regularly! :) Launching on Oct!

Hey your running time seems amazing lei!

How many times and how far do you jog a week to be able to reach that level of fitness im trying to achieve?

Hey Jessica,

Just wanna ask.. if I am looking for a NIKE running shoe, do you have any recommendations? I prefer light ones. Thanks.

Regards
Jason

Hi Jason, both the Nike Zoom Victory and Lunar Trainers are very light. There's a super lightweight one which is the Lunar Racers. If U can wait till Oct. Maybe give the Lunars a try? I like them cos it's great for running on roads with them. It has this sponge like layer between the sole and the base that will mold to your feet shape when U run and gets heated up. This makes it feel like running on marshmallows! The Zoom Victory is very good and lightweight too! And that's in stores already. :) I still can't decide which pair to use during the Nike Human Race. :)

Oh and someone else who is using the Zoom Victory said his comments here too! He commented on my blog as well. http://strykerspeaks.wordpress.com

Hi Nathan! Read your review, I think if U are getting blisters in your heel cup area, maybe the shoe size is not the right one for you? Sometimes due to the cut of the shoe, I wear a size bigger so that it is more comfortable and it won't cause blisters. Also, maybe try using running socks. They're usually thinner and have the Dri-Fit technology which reduces abrasion. I find that if I run with really thick socks, it sometimes gives me blisters. I too get blisters at my bunions when I run a lot. So, it could be one of those reasons... :)

Hihi! I run about 4-5 times a week and each time a minimum of 5km. I usually alternate between 10km and 5km and try to do at least 2 10km runs per week. Start slow at 1st to slowly build up your cardio endurance. Long distance running is all about breathing technique and mental endurance. And remember LSD=Long Slow Distance running, that helps build up fitness and lose weight! Just ensure that U don't feel faint, if U do, gradually slow down and not suddenly stop and that can shock your body.

Hi Jessicat,

The shoes "fit" fine I think its just the shape of the heel section, I found some band-aids that are made "for blisters" that seemed to help them heal, and the problem seems to have gone away, Maybe just needed to get used to the way they rub... Either way big fan of the shoes! :-)

jessicat said:

Hi Aik! Nah... my timings not fantastic. Just decent. The fastest runner for the 10km race was like 30 something min!!! A friend I met who used to be one of the world's top triathlete can complete 10km in 31min! *gawd*
