I finally embarked on planting my trees or "Plant-a Tree" as promised during my MSU 07 crowning! After one year and nearing the end of my reign, I managed to fulfill my goal and dream in doing so with the students in Singapore!!! :)

This is done in conjuction with NEA's latest Energy Efficient Singapore Programme and launch of a short film called "Super Saver" where a Sec 1 Chung Cheng High boy is the main lead. I'm also starring in it as his teacher and "fairy of the forest"! Hee hee... Here's a banner on it!

Catch the official launch of the short film on 23 May 2008 at Y2Y Network.

This morning I planted another tree but this time in Johor Bahru at Sungei Tebrau as part of the "Preserve Planet Earth" project as the Rotary Club Youth Ambassador. (More on this later)

Here's the photos of the events that happened on 9 May, Friday.

Had a Busy Week!

Hello!!!

I've not updated my blog for some days now... had a busy week and was very tired from the dance rehearsals for Fei Teng Bing Dian, to photoshoot for a fashion feature in I Weekly, to filming, to auditions, celebrating my birthday and organising stuff for my new home! *pant pant*

Dance rehearsals had been a little tough on me as we are required to learn the dance in a short time and I'm not a very experienced dancer as some - the last time I was officially trained in dance was in primary school for Chinese dance and it's very different from Ballet! Which is the main foundation of the dance I'm learning now! So crash course in Ballet for me! Did Indian dance for President Star Charity last year but that is easy compared to what I'm learning now!!! Hee hee... I've accumulated quite a number of "blue-blacks" on my knee due to the floor work in the dance routine!!! But all in all I actually do enjoy the dance training lessons though I struggle at times but its a great workout and an art I've always loved! (I regretted not taking up ballet when I was younger!)

Here's some photos taken during our rehearsals with Jeanette and the dancers who are really coaching us well!!!

Notice the knee guards I'm wearing!!! Hee that's to prevent more bruises from forming! My knees look "dirty" now cos of it and can't wear my fav short skirts n shorts esp. when the weather's been blazing hot lately!

Speaking of weather.... was filming for a couple of hours with Jeanette the other day in the hot afternoon sun around 1pm outdoors and I was burnt tho' I had sunblock on! Got myself some funky tan lines on my body and arms!! *haha* and today I realised I was actually burnt as my forehead started peeling!!! For a moment I was wondering what's wrong with my skin then I remembered my days in the sun... :P

That's all for now... time to Zzzzz....

Till we meet again!

Jess

P.S. I'm in the showdown "Sin City" trailer kicking some ass with the DOND babes!

Checkout my team!! http://theshowdown.mediacorptv.sg/team_sisters.htm

Just came back from my dance training with Jeanette for our dance scene together and it's very "hot"! Don't know how it'll come across on camera but I like how it looks in the mirror! But comparing me with Jeanette who has 10 years of dance background I feel pressured and look not as experienced as her dancing! Hee.... *stress*

More training sessions is yet to come and hope it'll look better and better!!!

Did a short film shoot for NEA to promote saving the environment and saving electricity and planting more trees! I'm supposed to be a teacher cum "Guardian of the Forest!"

Here's my "Guardian" outfit during our photoshoot with Ralph the superhero that saves our Earth!!!

NEA1.JPGDo I look like a fairy???

NEA2.JPGWish I could keep the wings tho!! :(

After the shoot I was really hungry! Had a nice dinner at Ichiban! But the highlight was really the White Sesame pudding dessert I ended my meal with!

Dessert at Ichiban.JPGOkie, that's all for now... I'll upload the pics taken during the publicity shoot soon! (when I get them from Desmond)

Keeping Fit!

I've been exercising everyday now from going for yoga, running, skipping rope and going to the gym and maintaining a much healthier diet - taking plenty of fruits/vegetables and drinking only juices, green tea and water -  in bid to stay healthy and also prepare myself for the Chinese drama role. I'm playing a dancer hence trying my best to get a more dancer-like physique.

Also, this gives me more motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle!

I feel a lot more energetic with constant exercise and skin glows now!

Want to see me really sweat it out??? Look out for this new Ch5 variety show called Showdown (airing in May) where I really work it out and get all sweaty and muddy!!! (no pun intended!)

So far filming has been really fun! I guess the anxiety and nervousness I had on my 1st day is slowly dissipating away and I get more comfortable with the cast and directing styles of Chinese Drama. Encountered some difficulty in trying to express certain emotions expected by the directors as initially I was not expressive enough or they just wanted more - for me to really let go. And finally I did! :) So far I'm enjoying myself a lot and going to work is something I look forward to everyday!

I'm looking forward to this particular dance scene I'm going to do which will probably be the most challenging part for me! Won't disclose what exactly it is.... :P

Here's a teaser of how I'll look in the drama! :)

huan yuan.JPGTook this pic in the bus on the way to the location shoot. *hee*

Forgot to post up these photos taken during the production. So thought I might as well do it now.... Better now than never right???

Day 2 of Filming

| | Comments (5) | TrackBacks (0)
Just had my second day of filming, and I think it went ok. As expected the director had things to correct about me like my speech in mandarin was too "biao1 zhun3" that it sounded a bit too theatrical hence not simulating a daily natural speech! *hehe* I think I practiced too much with my aunt and Chinese teacher. And my aunt teaches more theater acting in schools hence the influence! :P

At least correcting that part wasn't extremely difficult but it did give me stress as I had to consciously remember not to sound like that anymore! Adding in physical acting and facial expressions, it was kinda overwhelming for a newbie like me!

The comforting part was the director was very nice, patient and actually felt my acting was not bad! :) Maybe that was said to not crush my confidence! *hehe*

Oh well, day 2's over.... looking forward to tomorrow which has longer and a bit more challenging scenes!

Wish me luck!!

XOXO
Jessica

P.S. Just received this new pic of Karen Mok and me in conversation from Shanghai!

Me n Karen Mok.jpg

This Saturday will be the pilot episode of Channel News Asia's breakthrough info-drama series with informational elements on Chinese herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This is the project that I've been working on lately. Though my role is small but every little bit of experience counts! I hope my performance will be up to standards!

Wish me luck!!!

XOXO
Jessica
